AMERICAN MATERIALS

LEASE-LEND DISCUSSIONS (Special) WELLINGTON, Sept. 9. Discussions on the procedure under the American Lease or Lend Act are still proceeding between the Governments of the United Kingdom and the United States, according to the acting Prime Minister (the Hon. W. Nash). He said tonight that a statement would be issued almost immediately about the principles on which the lease or lend procedure would be implemented. Mr Nash said that all materials coming under the Lease or Lend Act would be such as were required for the prosecution of the war effort and this would govern their distribution and use. None of the goods would be used for the furtherance of private interests.
