SIXPENNY CLOTHING CLUB
ASSISTANCE GIVEN TO NEEDY The assistance given to the needy by the Invercargill Sixpenny Clothing Club is outlined in the annual report of the club, which states that it has again had a busy year. Boots and shoes had been most in demand, 108 pairs having
been supplied as compared with 69 the previous year. In addition, 96 parcels of new clothes and 137 good second-hand garments had been issued. Five complete outfits had also been supplied to patients entering the Waipiata sanatorium. The meetings during the year (had been well attended, continues the ! report. Applications for help, it was stated, should be forwarded to the president (Mrs J. H. Aldridge) or the secretary (Mrs O. Grant) before the first Monday in the month for consideration at the meetings.
