LENTIL SOUP A cheap lentil soup is made with three ounces of soaked red lentils, a quart of water, a carrot, an onion, some celery, and half a ,pini of milk. Dice the vegetables and toss in a little butter for a few minutes, then add the lentils, water and seasoning. Simmer until quite soft, then rub through a sieve, add the milk and heat up. -If liked, a marrow bone can be put in with the water and lentils and the milk omitted.
