BEAU VITE’S GUARDS MAY HAVE FIREARMS

SYDNEY, August 26. Mr Ralph Stewart, owner of Beau Vite, said he will ask the Victorian police to permit the horse’s stable attendants to carry revolvers while in Melbourne. “I brought Beau Vite over with the intention of winning the Melbourne Cup and I do not want any mishaps,” he said. “Racecourse thugs tried to shoot him last year. I do not intend to risk the same thing happening again.” Mr Stewart said he was sure the police would grant the request.
