SOUTH CANTERBURY MEETING (P.A.) TIMARU, May 17. The concluding day of the South Canterbury winter meeting was held in fine weather. The attendance was kw? o - The totalizator handled £19,119/10/against £15,741/10/- last year. The total for the meeting was £31,868/10/against £24,143, an increase of £<725 10/-. A meeting of the Judicial Committee was held concerning the Duke of Gloucester Cup which was run on the first day. The evidence revealed that there was some doubt whether G. Paul, owner and rider of the winner, had a gentleman rider’s certificate. It was decided that the stake, the cup and miniatures be impounded until the mattei was cleared up. Results:—
