MAN CRITICALLY INJURED
Car And Motor-Cycle Collide Two men, one of whom is in a critical condition, were admitted to the Balclutha Hospital on Sunday night suffering from injuries received in an accident on the main north road about two miles on the Dunedin side of Waipahi. Tire injured men are: — ALBERT DAWSON, of Dunedin, a married man with two children; fracture of the left leg and possible fractures of the left forearm, pelvis and
the base of the skull; condition grave. ONSLEY GREEN: shock and abrasions; condition satisfactory.
Both men have been employed at the Mataura freezing works and they were returning to Mataura on a motor-cycle after spending the week-end in Dunedin when the accident occurred. Dawson was the rider of the motor-cycle and it is understood that his machine came into collision with a motor-car travelling north. The driver of the car is not known.
The cycle was extensively damaged and it is understood that the car was also badly damaged. Dawson is a brother of Mr R. Dawson, of Gore.
