DISSATISFIED DREDGE WORKERS
DELAY IN MAKING AWARD
(P.A.) GREYMOUTH, April 30. Information from a well-informed quarter indicates grave dissatisfactionamong gold-dredge workers on the West Coast as a result of the delay, in making a new award by the Arbitration Court, which heard the application two months ago. It is stated that unless something definite is done by the Court or the Government within a few days it is possible that the union will consider’ action which may drastically affect the smooth working of the industry, which employs 400 or 500 men.. A telegram has been sent to the Minister of Labour, the Hon. P. C. Webb, urging immediate action on the new award.
