NO DISTRIBUTION OF MEAT IN LONDON
STAFFS OF DEPOTS ON STRIKE
(Rec. 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 28, The distribution of meat in London has been stopped by a strike covering all 30 wholesale depots around the capital. Twenty-five hundred employees are affected.
The strikers are protesting against the dismissal of the manager and 60 employees from a depot closed after damage in an air raid. They contend that the employers undertook that the staff would be absorbed at other depots.
