JUMP FROM BLAZING CARRIAGE

(Rec. 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 28. Six boys from Ampleforth College, a Roman Catholic public school in Yorkshire, were killed and seven injured when they jumped from a blazing carriage on the London-Newcastle express. The carriage contained 64 boys. The train was pulled up and the crew attacked the fire.

Two sons of the Belgian Prime Minister, M. Hubert Pierlot, are believed to have been killed. A third son was taken to hospital. The boys were returning to school after the Easter holidays.
