COUNTY COUNCIL NOMINATION

CR G. A. WRAYTT FIRST CANDIDATE

The first candidate to be nominated for the Southland County Council at the local-body elections on May 17 is Cr G. A. Wraytt, of the Oreti riding, a sitting member. His nominees were Messrs G. A. Hamilton and A. Blue.

Crs W. M. Norman and Wraytt have been nominated for re-election as the representatives of the Southland County area on the Bluff Harbour Board. Cr Norman’s nomination paper was signed by Crs L. A. Niederer and J. Dennis, and that of Cr Wraytt by Crs G. W. Whittingham and Dennis. The council has two representatives on the Harbour Board.

The County Council is entitled to six representatives on the Southland Hospital Board and so far two have been nominated for re-election. They are Crs Norman and Wraytt. Tire former was nominated by Crs Niederer and Whittingham and the latter by Crs Whittingham and Dennis.
