PREPARATIONS FOR EVACUATION
NEED AT TECHNICAL
COLLEGE
The opinion that something should be done to prepare for the evacuation of pupils at the Southland Technical College, in case of an emergency was expressed by Mr H. C. Gimblett, a member of the visiting committee, when reporting to the meeting of the Southland Technical College Board on Thursday. Mr Gimblett said he considered that an evacuation of pupils would necessarily be a slow process because of the nature of the building. He recommended that steps be taken to inquire into the matter. It was decided to postpone any action until the building had been inspected by officers of the Invercargill fire station.
