OBITUARY

MR ALISTER McLEOD The death has occurred of Mr Alister McLeod, at his residence 77 Eye street, Invercargill, at the age of 83. Mr McLeod, who was for many years a member of the Caledonian Pipe Band and the Scottish Society in Invercargill, was born in Scotland in 1858, and came to New Zealand at the early age of 16 years. He lived for many years in Central Otago, where he worked on various sheep stations, and then shifted to Seaward Bush. He took up residence in Eye street about 12 years later. On his arrival in Invercargill Mr McLeod joined the staff of the Invercargill Reserves Department. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth McLeod, one son (Mr R. McLeod, of Oamaru), and two daughters (Mrs C. Moorhouse and Mrs R. Kane, of Invercargill),.
