Edgar Kennedy is at his best in the role of the fire chief. Others who help Keep the picture bubbling with merriment are Jack Carson, Wally Vernon, Edward Brophy and William Davidson. For years W. C. Fields has been acclaimed one of the greatest comedians on the American stage or screen. The honour has never been disputed, but if any proof were needed, it is here in hilatest picture, “The Bank Dick,” which is a Majestic Theatre attraction. Aiding and abetting , Fields in “The Bank Dick’ is a cast which includes Una Markel, Richard Purcell, Shemp Howard, .Franklin Pangborn, Grady Sutton, Jessie Ralph, Cora Witherspoon, Dave Oliver, Harlan Briggs and scores of others who appear in the numerous comedy sequences with which the picture is crammed. Chapter 3 of the popular G-Man serial, “Junior G-Men,” which shows those likeable street urchins, “The Dead End Kids” and “The Little Tough Guys,” will also be screened, together with the current issue of the Cinesound News which features Sydney’s colossal yrelcome to the American Fleet. are now on view at H. and J. Smith’s, Rice’s Majestic sweet shop and at the Majestic Theatre. EMPIRE, RIVERTON “Drums Along The Mohawk” in technicolour from the great novel of adventure and romance when America was young, featuring Henry Fonda and Claudette Colbert, will be screened at Riverton tonight and on Monday night. Edna May Oliver and John Carradine are also included in the cast. Battle scenes in this film reach a pitch of realism and excitement never equalled on the screen. It will be remembered by all who see it. The story is tense with thrills and exciting incidents.
