MAN DROWNED AT EVANS BAY

(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 24. Allan Kirkpatrick, a postmaster of Kilbirnie was drowned at Evan’s Bay on Saturday afternoon. He was 43 years of age. Although two swimmers rescued Kirkpatrick from the water, efforts at artificial respiration failed. Kirkpatrick was on leave and accompanied by his wife and a small girl was swimming.
