HOMILY’S WIN IN TONKS STAKES (United Press Association) HAWERA, February 8. For - the last day of the Egmont races the weather was overcast, with a strong northerly wind up the straight. There was a large attendance. In the Meremere Hack Handicap Ocean Breeze fell and brought down Red Chief and Gold Tray. D. Redstone suffered a broken collarbone and W. J. Stevens a broken wrist and an injured shoulder. The totalizator handled £25,234 for the day, compared with £19,427 last year. The total for the meeting was £46,211, an increase of £10,492.
