NAZIS NEED CIVILIAN FIREFIGHTERS

(Received February 9, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, February 8. Marshal Milch, Inspector-General of the German Air Force, in a broadcast throughout Germany, declared that while the Royal Air Force disturbed their sleep, the Luftwaffe was bombing British towns. He emphasized the need for civilian fire-fighters. “Men and women can do this equally well. It may be dangerous as the Royal Air Force swoops down,” he said. Marshal Milch hinted that there might be severe penalties for those not taking shelter. He said that 80 per cent, of the casualties were among those not sheltering.
