CASUALTIES IN MIDDLE EAST
NEW ZEALANDER KILLED IN ACTION (United Press Association) WELLINGTON. February 8. The following casualties among the forces with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Middle East were announced tonight:— Corporal Francis Rex Beech, killed in action. Father, Mr F. J. Beech, Picton. Trooper Ronald Joseph Moore, missing, believed killed. Mother, Mrs A. Moore, Taihape. Trooper Walter Russell Adams, prisoner of war. Father, Mr Len Adams, Whangarei. Lance-Corporal Lawrence Roderick, prisoner of war. Father, Mr G. Roderick, Richmond, Nelson. Trooper Thomas Borthwick McNeill, wounded. Mother, Mrs E. McNeill Wellington. Trooper Vincent George Spain, wounded. Father, Mr S. T. Spain, Alexandra. Acting Lance-Corporal Laurence Hamilton Browne, wounded. Wife, Mrs E. V. M. Browne, Eastbourne. AIR FORCE OFFICER MISSING (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 8. It is officially announced that Pilot Officer Basil Ivan Clausen, R.N.Z.A.F., is missing as a result of an aircraft accident. His mother is Mrs M. Clausen, Palmerston North.
