LODGE MEETING

The fortnightly meeting of Court Southern, Ancient Order of Oddfellows, presided over by Chief Ranger, Bro. A. W. Elliotte, was well attended. Official visits were received from Courts Queen and Star of the South. It was decided to accept an invitation to attend the nineteenth anniversary meeting of Court Pride of Gore. The senior auditor presented the annual balance-sheet, showing all funds to be in a flourishing condition, the only disturbing feature being a drop of 24 in membership. This court, in common with other friendly societies, after many years of steady progress, has shown a loss over the past two year's. The toast of the visitors was responded to by C.R. Sister R. Shepherd, Court Queen of the South, S.C.R. Bro. A. Leckie, Court Star of the South, and P.C.R. Bro. E. Gunter, of Court Pride of Papatoetoe, Auckland district. After the meeting a flag 500 tournament was held.
