READINESS TO SERVE AS NON-COMBATANT
(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 7. There is no protection under the National Service Emergency Regulations for those stating they are prepared to serve in a non-combatant unit, according to Mr W. F. Stilwell, S.M., chairman of the Wellington Appeal Board, in dismissing the appeal of Stanley Gordon Field. Mr Stilwell said the board was satisfied that the applicant was sincere in his views. The board would recomn. id his posting to a non-combatant unit. Field stated he was a member of a sect known as the Exclusive Brethren.
