It is a very bold man, says A. G. Macdonnell, who writes a novel : through the eyes of a woman. Indeed, it takes such audacity that very few men , have ever attempted it. In a sense Thackeray may be described as having tried it in “Vanity Fair” and Meredith flirted with the idea, particularly in “Diana of the Crossways.” A very recent instance is Christopher Morley’s “Kitty Foyle.” But it is not a common feat, and it is not easy.
