TENNIS MATCHES COMPETITION IN CENTRAL DISTRICT Playing on the Limehills courts in the opening match of the Central District tennis competition, the Dipton team defeated Limehills by 11 sets to 5. The following are the detailed results (Limehills names first): — Women’s Singles.—Miss E. Tippett beat Mrs Stewart, 7-0; Mrs C. Hawkins beat Mrs L. Whitaker, 7-6; Miss D. Tippett lost to Miss Taylor, 1-7; Miss J. Diack beat Miss Taylor, 7-6. Men’s Singles.—H. Phillips lost to L. Whitaker, 0-9; C. Kettle lost to D. Shand. 1-9; C. Hawkins beat O’Callaghan, 9-6; G. Morgan lost to Mayer, 1-9. Women’s Doubles.—Miss E. Tippett and Mrs C. Hawkins beat Mesdames Stewart and L. Whitaker, 7-4; Misses D. Tippett and J. Diack lost to Misses Taylor, 3-7. Men’s Doubles.—H.
