WATERSIDE WINS AT WELLINGTON (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 22. Association football matches resulted: First A division. —Waterside two, Hospital one; Marist two, Seatoun nil. Waterside wins the championship, with Marist runner-up. AUCKLAND In an Association football match on Saturday for the English Trophy at Blandford Park the Auckland representatives stayed off Canterbury’s challenge by five goals to two. BOYS’ BRIGADE MATCH AT SHOW GROUNDS y The Association football match between the 7th Invercargill Boys’ Brigade Company and the 3rd Company played at the show grounds on Saturday afternoon resulted in a draw, 3-all. The ground was wet and muddy and the conditions were not conducive to a high standard of play. However, the game was a good one considering the state of the playing field and there were some bright rallies. For the 3rd Company R. Morrison and C. Ballantine each scored. For the 7th Company D. Sutherland scored, the other goal resulting from a rebound off opponent. The teams were:— 3rd Company: R. Nicol, C. Ballantine, E. Imbs, H. Harvey, S. Walker, A. Telfer, B. Olley, R. Taylor, R. Morrison, W. Aitken, G. Pearce. 7th Company: I. Miller, L. McAlister, E. Kidd, R. Kelman, D. Dawson, R. Henry, D. Sutherland, N. Cox, J. Gill, G. Murray, N. Lilley. The referee was Mr W. Dennis.
