QUEENSTOWN

ARBOR DAY Arbor Day was celebrated in Queenstown with the planting of firs and poplars which had been raised in the public school nursery. Children from the public and Convent schools took part in the planting which was done on Queenstown Hill. In the afternoon a picnic was held at the One Mile. Sports for the children were held the prizes being donated by the Queenstown Borough Council, each child also receiving a bag of sweets.
