SPECIAL FORCE IN FAVOUR

WELLINGTON STAKES TODAY HATRACK EXPECTED TO RACE WELL The Wellington Stakes, the first three-year-old pacing classic of the season, will be the feature event at the Wellington. Trotting Club’s spring meeting at Hutt Park today. The programme right through has filled well, with Canterbury stables making up the bulk of the entry. The track promises to provide good going and the win-and-place system of betting will operate. Special Force, who won the New Zealand Sapling Stakes in easy fashion, is likely to be a good favourite for the Wellington Stakes, which will provide an excellent line on prospects for the New Zealand Derby.
