MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING INTER-PROVINCIAL MATCH The match between the Otago Miniature Rifle Association and the Southland Miniature Rifle Association will now take place at Dunedin on August 3, and not at Invercargill as previously stated. Affiliated clubs should send in their nominations immediately, otherwise they will not be considered. R.S.A. CLUB’S SCORES The Returned Soldiers’ Association Miniature Rifle Club began a two- i night shoot On a self-handicap basis. It is for trophies donated by Mr Frank Stewart. The shooting was of a medium standard, lack of practice shooting being responsible. The A grade badge was won by R. T. Barnett and the B grade by R. Barnes, who also won the nightly trophy. WRESTLING McCready beats o’connor CHRISTCHURCH, July 17. Earl McCready beat Dan O’Connor by two falls to one tonight. More good holds than usual were applied, though the crowd showed more appreciation of the occasional offside tactics. McCready took the first fall in the I third round' after two flying headlocks and a dump. O’Connor equalized in the fourth, flooring McCready with dropkicks and applying a body press. McCready’s winning fall in the seventh round was obtained when he winded O’Conhor as he bounced off the ropes, O’Connor falling a victim to two solid dumps and a body press. MEN’S HOCKEY SATURDAY’S MATCH AT GORE The senior and junior men’s hockey teams will travel to Gore next Saturday by bus leaving the corner of Esk and Dee streets at 12.30 p.m. sharp. Junior teams will wear white shirts. Any representative players who have jerseys are asked to let the secretary have them or to take them to Gore on Saturday.
