ELDERLY MAN FOUND SHOT

The body of an elderly man named James Bennett Dales, aged 80, was found at his residence in Spey street early yesterday afternoon. A singlebarrelled shot gun was found beside the body. Dales was for many years a member of the Police Force and after his retirement he became a storeman, retiring from this work some years ago. He was a widower, his wife, who was formerly Miss Sarah Melville Webster, having died three years ago. An inquest will be held. BOY DISLOCATES SHOULDER Ivan Neilson, aged 12, of 118 Scandrett street, was admitted to the Southland Hospital yesterday with a dislocated shoulder. The injury was caused by a fall in play at school. DEATH FROM INJURIES (United Press Association) NAPIER,JuIy 17. Head injuries, received in a collision with a car near Awatoto today, caused the death within a few minutes of a married man, Hugh Richardson.
