MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOT There was a fair attendance at the weekly shoot of the Wyndham Riflq, Club. The A grade button was won by G. Goodhart and the B grade by G. Hutton. The first six-weekly competition was finalized, E. Christianson winning the trophy for the best aggregate off the rifle, and D. Fraser the handicap aggregate. Because of the shortage of ammunition the club will have to suspend operations until further supplies are available.

GOLF A Canadian foursome was played for C. Rout’s trophy and Gibson and Irvine won with the excellent score of 79-12-67. The next best was Crawford and J. Heath with 87-14|-72|, Rout and Stirling Harper and V. Milne 84-9-75.
The draw for the Stableford bogey today is:—Davey and Heath, Irvine and Milne, Pankhurst and Fraser, Henderson and J. Heath, Stirling and Muir, Rout and McCaughan, Stark and Shepperd, Barnett and Scott, Harper and Holdgate, Crawford and F. Milne, Mitchell and Holmes.

METHODIST MEN’S FELLOWSHIP The monthly meeting of the Mataura Valley Methodist Men’s Fellowship took place at Edendale when representatives were present from Mataura, Gore, Edendale and Wyndham. Mr Crooke presided and the speaker for the evening was the Rev. Dr I. W. Fraser, of Wyndham, who gave a most interesting address on life in New York. The next meeting will be held at Wyndham. SCOTTISH SOCIETY There was a large atendance at the monthly meeting of the Wyndham Scottish Society. A miniature moving picture programme was provided by Mr J. D. Gilmore, of Invercargill, who, with Mrs Gilmore, recently returned from a visit to America, England, Scotland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and France. Chief W. Frame, jun., presided, and welcomed Mr and Mrs Gilmore.
The films included views of the San Francisco World Fair; the sky scrapers and points of interest in New York, delightful scenes of rural England together with most of the historical scenes there, as well as in Scotland, a cruise to Sweden, Denmark and Norway in the Strathmore. Chieftain F. J. Dunbar, in moving a vote of thanks to Mr and Mrs Gilmore for their entertainment, said the films had brought home to them the beauty of the country they were thinking so much about at present.
