PUKERAU
CONCERT AND SALE OF WORK The annual concert by the Busy Bees and the sale of work held in the Pukerau hall attracted a large attendance and resulted in the sum of approximately £lO being raised for mission funds, for the Presbyterian Church. Members of the Gore Bible Class provided the second portion of the concert. The following was the programme:— Song, “The Whole Wide World,” Busy Bees; songs, girls’ choir; song, “Last Rose of Summer,” school choir; solos, Miss P. Scott; play in rhyme, Gladys Young, Dorothy Tamblyn, Allison McDonald and Nyra Norton; drill, senior school girls; song, “Nymphs and Shep-' herds,” school choir; humorous sketch, members of Gore Bible Class; solos, Miss F. Spence; missionary play, “Ruatara,” Gore Bible Class; solos, Miss A. Mitchell; missionary play, “The Lantern,” Gore Bible Class. The accompanists were Misses M. Carrol, M. Mclntyre and Mr R. J. Mathews. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT The third of a series of progressive euchre tournaments being held to defray the costs of the hall piano was held. The prize-winners Were:—Women, | Miss Aileen O’Hagan. Men, Mr A. G. I Osborn (Wairau Valley). J
