WEDDING
CLARKE-ROLLINSON The wedding was solemnized recently at North Invercargill Presbyterian Church, of Ngaire Grace, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Rollinson, Meir bourne street, Invercargill, to Roi Logan, second son of Mr and Mrs R. B. Clarke, of Roslyn, Dunedin. The Rev. Hugh Graham performed the ceremony and Mrs R. N. Fraser played the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin royal. The sleeves were shirred at the shoulders and finished in a point over the hands and the cowled bodice was fastened at the back with a row of tiny buttons. The softly flared skirt carne to a point at the front waistline and was gathered in bustle effect at the back where it forrped a short train. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a spray of white flowers and she carried a bouquet of winter roses, freesias and maidenhair fem. Mrs Neill Hodges, of Waimate, sister of the bride, was matron of honour, and Miss Tui Rollinson was bridesmaid. They wore identical frocks of maize satin striped marquisette. The tightfitting bodices had heart-shaped necklines and the backs were made similar to that of the bride. They wore a spray of flowers in their hair, gold sandals, and carried shirred muffs trimmed with flowers to tone. Mr Jim Lorimer was best man and Mr R. H. McDowell was groomsman.
A reception was later held at the Brown Owl where Mrs Rollinson, assisted by Mrs Clarke, received her guests. Mrs Rollinson wore a navy tailored coat and frock and fur, while Mrs ■ Clarke chose a tailored costuftie with hat and accessories to match and also wore a stole.
For travelling the bride wore an Air Force blue tailored coat, over a smokeblue suit with navy hat and accessories. Mr and Mrs R. L. Clarke’s future home will be at Monowai.
