WINTON Mrs H. E. Denny, Arthur street, is visiting Fortrose. Miss Marian Tilley, Great North road, has returned from a holiday in Ashburton. Miss M. O’Neil, of Gore, is the guest of Miss K. Boyle, Meldrum street. Mr and Mrs J. M. de la Perrelle, Park street, were recent visitors to Gore. Mrs John Thomson, of Invercargill, has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs W. Swale, Limehills. Miss Jean Wilkinson, of Invercargill, is spending a holiday with Mrs D. Legat, South Winton. Miss N. Wilson, of Limehills, was a recent visitor to Bluff. Before leaving Winton, Mrs T. N. Mitchell received a presentation from the Winton sub-branch of the Plunket Society, of which, she has been an executive member for-a long term. In making the presentation, Mrs J. W. Irwin referred to the valuable assistance given by their guest in the society’s activities, and extended best wishes to her in her new home in Hokitika. The remarks of the president were endorsed by Mesdames J. J. Woods, M. McCallum, H. Anderson and Miss N. Kingi Mrs Mitchell replied. Mr and Mrs L. Cahill will leave this week to live at Hokitika. Miss H. T>arnill, Prince street, has taken up a position in Invercargill. Mrs Cochrane, of Orepuki, is the guest of Mrs H. Cochrane, New road.
