AIR MANOEUVRES AT WELLINGTON
PLANES FLY IN FORMATION OVER CITY (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 13. The people of Wellington were given a front-seat view of one of the most spectacular sights of Air Force training when groups from the Woodburn aerodrome, Blenheim, flew over the city in formation for the best part of an hour, between 12 and 1 o’clock. The first to arrive was a group of nine Vincent bi-planes glinting brightly in the sun and near at hand were seven Oxford Airspeed Monoplanes. Three other Vincents followed in a formation of their own. Manoeuvres continued overhead, bringing into the streets, on to the roofs and to every window, large groups of interested spectators. It was generally known that the display was to be given, but not everyone knew and at least one good soul required an assurance that the craft belonged to the Dominion and had no sinister purpose.
