RIVERTON

ENJOYABLE CONCERT An enjoyable programme was presented by the pupils of Miss Jean Stevens in the Empire Theatre. All the dances were delightfully performed and the dressing was particularly charming and colourful. The pupils, Phyllis Wilson, Treasure De Clifford, Grace Johnstone, Shirley Rainbow, Venice Cloughley, Annie Thomas, Mary Molloy, Jean Macßae and Velma Lockett produced some pleasing pictures, while Miss Stevens showed herself to be a delightful dancer. The Spanish song and dance, the dance being given by Miss Stevens and the song by Mr W. D. Clifford, was much enjoyed, as were other songs given by Mr De Clifford.

During the interval, Dr C. H. Gordon, on behalf of the Returned Soldiers’ Association, thanked Miss Stevens, not only for the help she was giving to the Returned Soldiers’ Association, but also for the training that she was giving her fine band of young pupils.
