MOSSBURN SECTIONS SOLD
BIG PROPERTIES PASSED IN Freehold and leasehold lands belonging to the estate of the late Mr F. J. Dyer, of Mossburn, were offered at auction in Invercargill yesterday by Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd. The Braxton property of 6813 acres and a Crown leasehold of 7524 acres, including 4426 sheep, also cattle, horses, plant and crops, were passed in. A freehold farm of 836 acres near Braxton and another rf 251 acres at Gropers Bush were also not sold. Negotiations for private sales of these properties are being conducted. A section in Mossburn comprising four acres 27 poles was bought for, it is believed, use as a recreation ground. Sales of sections in the township were as follows:— Crown lease, sections 1 and 2, block 5, 10 acres 3 roods 38 poles, to Mr F. E. Gilligan (Mossbum) for £6O. Freehold, section 1, block 2, 1 rood, to Mr George Dickson (Mossbum), for £27.
Freehold, section 2, block 2,2 roods, to Mr F. E. Gilligan for £35. Freehold, section 3, block 2,2 roods, t Mr C. M. Dore (Mossburn) for £35. Freehold, section 12, block 2, 4 acres, 27 poles, to Mr Alexander Roy (on behalf of certain residents) for £46.
