WELLINGTON, May 1.
The following statement has been issued by the headquarters of the National Party: “After full consideration of the various factors involved, it has been decided that the New Zealand National Party will not contest the Auckland West by-election, caused by the death of the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage.”
