Fair To Cloudy L (Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, May 1. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate to fresh northerly to westerly winds. Some scattered drizzle, but weather mainly fair to cloudy, and rather milder. Sea slight. Following is the Dominion forecast:— Weather for the most part fair. Gradually becoming unsettled, however, in the western areas south of Taranaki, with scattered rain developing. Temperatures becoming rather milder, but some sharp frosts in the south tonight. General Situation—An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand and a depression is located off the coast of New South Wales. Winds. —Light to moderate northerlies predominating and gradually freshening about and south of Cook Strait. Seas (N.Z. waters). —Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea.—Gradually freshening northerly winds and slight but rising seas. The weather in Invercargill yesterday was calm and cold. At 1 o’clock this morning the weather was cool and clear with a light breeze from the west.
