RANKING PLAYERS IN AUSTRALIA (Received April 30, 6.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, April 30. Although A. D. Quist is the national singles tennis champion, J. Bromwich has been officially ranked Australian number one player. The leading rankers arc as follows:— MEN J. Bron - A. D. Quist. J. H. Crawford. H. O. Hopman. V. B. McGrat 1 —. Newcombe. CHAMPIONSHIP OF WINTON CLUB The men’s championship of the Winton Tennis Club has been won by F. Lindsay, who beat G. Hamilton in the final, the scores being 6-0, 6-1, 6-1. Lindsay played exceptionally well and had a fairly easy win. Last year’s title-holder was G. Horsburgh, who was beaten by Hamilton in the semifinal.
