COST OF AIR RAID PRECAUTIONS
(British Official Wireless) (Received April 28, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, April 26. Air raid precautions will cost the local authorities in the metropolitan area more in the coming year. Just over £7,500,000 has been spent by them in the year ended March 31, while the .estimate for the coming year is £8,000,000. Fire services alone cost the London County Council £1,147,120.
