AIR FORCE MEMBER ASSAULTED

(United Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 23. While walking alone through the Auckland Domain late at night Corporal Alexander Baxter, of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, stationed at Whenuapai, was attacked by two men. He was struck about the face and head, being knocked down, and his assailants left him apparently unconscious. Baxter later walked to the Auckland hospital where he was admitted to be treated for concussion. His condition was reported to be not serious.

MAN FOUND DEAD (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 23. John Orlando Bowden, married, aged 36, was found dead with a shotgun by his side at Ettrick today. His death is believed to have been accidental as there were no suspicious circumstances. An inquest will be held tomorrow.
