INITIATIVE TAKEN BY R.A.F.

(By Radio—ll.3o p.m.) LONDON, April 23. The Royal Air Force has taken the initiative in the struggle for the mastery of the air over Norway. The British flights have been very successful when it is remembered that the R.A.F. is operating from distant bases. Well-informed London circles estimate that the Germans have lost 70 aircraft in Norway since the campaign began- but it is probable that the losses are nearer 100.
