CANADA AS BEST CUSTOMER OF U.S.
(Received April 23, 11.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 22. The Washington correspondent of The New York Times says that Canada in spite of import restrictions appears likely to surpass Britain as the United States’s best customer. Canada imported in February 50,029,000 dollars worth of United States goods, 85 per cent, above February last year and 1,000,000 dollars above January. In spite of large arms purchases, the major increases are in fruits, meats, woollen textiles, motor-cars and machinery,
