MOTORCYCLE CLUBS CONGRATULATED
PART PLAYED IN ACCIDENT PREVENTION (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 23. Congratulations upon the results achieved by motor-cycle clubs in accident prevention during the past 12 months, were expressed today by the Minister of Transport (the Hon. R. Semple). Apart from July and August, every month of the last statistical year had shown a reduction in motor-cycle accidents, said Mr Semple. In 12 months motor-cycle casualties had been reduced to 667 from 875. Motor-cycle clubs had been a major factor in bringing about this reduction. They had cooperated in every road safety proposal brought forward by the Transport Department and had assisted, through their members, in educating many young motor-cyclists in the principles of safe riding.
