MANY VISITORS TO EXHIBITION
NUMBERS AT SOUTHLAND COURT (Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, December 29. Although no special functions were held at the Southland court at the Exhibition at Christmas or the New Year because the organizer (Mr Charles Mackay) was absent in Invercargill, large numbers of Southlanders visited the court daily over the holiday period and were entertained by Mr Gavin Mackay, deputizing for his father. Mr Mackay is expected to return next week. The Southland reception room is a popular rendezvous and the writing facilities are greatly appreciated. Many hundreds of Christmas greetings and messages were written in the court, especially by soldiers on leave from Trentham.
Radio lends gaiety to the court and only approval can be given of the reception rooms. Many visitors to the Dominion court have voiced criticism of the failure of the upkeep of models of ships now stained green by the water. Although the model of the Bluff waterfront is splashed with green, this model has not depreciated, as none oi the ships are moving models.
