SOUTHLAND CENTRE MEETS The list of prospective Southland representatives at the New Zealand junior and intermediate swimming championships to be held at Dunedin from January 17 to 20 submitted to a meeting of the executive of the Southland Swimming Centre last night by the selectors, Messrs E. J. Salisbury and O. Davis, was approved. Mr J. C. Kirkland presided over Messrs Davis, F. de la Perrelle, Salisbury and R. C. Stewart, secretary. _ Mr H. Smith was appointed trainer of the representative swimming team, Mrs T. Lynch was appointed chaperone, and Mr J. C. Kirkland, manager. The New Zealand Swimming Association wrote giving the Southland Centre permission to wear the New Zealand monogram on the provincial blazer, which will be maroon in colour and will have the words “Southland Centre” below the monogram. The blazer is to be awarded to past and present Southland title-holders and representatives.
