FEW SALES OF SHEEP
LITTLE INTEREST BY BUYERS PONIES MEET READIER MARKET Passings in the sheep sale at the show were frequent and there was not much buying interest, though there was a good attendance of breeders at the pens. Two sales were recorded of stock from the Oakleigh Estate, Southbridge. One lot, of three rams, was sold to Mr W. B. Cox'(South Hillend) at 14Jgns, and the other lot to the Grieve estate at lOJgns. SALES OF PONIES The ponies did not sell very well, and here, too, many entries were passed. Those that were sold were of good quality, and the highest price realized was £2O. Details were: The National Mortgage and Agency Co. Ltd. sold: Account of J. Wilhelmsen (Mataura), one pony to J. Robertson (Otapiri) for £2O, pony to J. Winter (Menzies Ferry) for £l3/10/-, pony to James Forbes for £l5; account C. Fairweather (Invercargill), six-year-old pony to J. McKenzie (Seaward Downs), on account N. Morton (Invercargill). Account J. McNamara (Seaward Downs), pony gelding £l9, to W. Clark (South Hillend), A. Duncan, five-year-old pony to W. J. Hillis (Seaward Downs) for £lB/10/-, to N. Robertson (Waikoikoi), pony, £B. , No sales of heavy horses were recorded.
