DAIRY FACTORY MANAGERS AND EMPLOYERS

A sitting of the Conciliation Council was held in Invercargill to hear a dispute between the Otago and' Southland dairy factory managers (butter factory branch) and the employers, but the assessors failed to agree on salaries and holidays and the sitting was adjourned sine die.

The commissioner, Mr S. Ritchie, presided and the Hon. T. O’Byrne, M.L.C., acted as agent for the employees. The assessors were: Employers, Messrs G. R. Herron (Invercargill), W. Young (Otahuti) and A. H. Templeton (Dunedin); employees, Messrs W. McKeown (Mataura Island), J. T. Mors (Gore) and W. W. Mundy (Dunedin).
