CLOSING OF GOLF SEASON The closing of the golf season took place at the week-end, Mr F. Erasmuson, president, presenting the trophies. He congratulated the winner of the club championship, N. J. Grant, on his success and thanked the members and the secretary, Mr Hoskins, for their work in making the season so successful. ( The trophies were won by the following: Club championship, N. J. Grant; Knagg’s Cup, F. Erasmuson; Barr Memorial Shield, I. M. Grant; 1 May medal, N. J. Grant; June medal, A. Smeaton; July medal, H. Hoskins; August medal, N. J, Grant; September medal, W. McElligott; October medal, I. M. Grant; aggregate medal, A. Cochrane; North-British trophy, F. Erasmuson; stroke match, I. M. Grant; Bogey match, F. Erasmuson; Stableford match, J. B. Grant. .■■';!/ LADIES’GOLF CLUB The Nightcaps Ladies’ Golf ' Club’s season has been brought to a close after a very successful year. Competitions were played .every week, balls being won to the various competitions by Mrs' Wells, Mrs Johnstone, Mrs Lee, Mr? Scott, Mrs Lyng, Mrs Laidlaw- and Mrs McLeod. /

Championship results: Semi-final, Mrs Lee’beat Mrs Wells, 1 up; semifinal, Mrs Malcolm beat Mrs Johnstone; T up; final, Mrs Lee beat Mrs Mal-4 colm, 7 and 6. . • t ’ On closing day Mrs Wells was hos-; tess at afternoon tea. The following prizes were presented: Championship cup and trophy, Mrs Lee; runner-up (captain’s prize), Mrs Malcolm; 36 holes, eclectic match, Mrs Wells; handicap match (Mrs Lee’s prize), Mrs Scott; L.G.U. bronze button, Mrs Wells; closing day competi-
