WEDNESDAY (Before Mr R. C. Abernethy, S.M.) Thomas Verdun Pagan was fined £2, costs 10/-, for driving a motor-car without lights. Harold Erskine Farlow pleaded guilty to driving a motor-car in Esk street without number plates. Sergeant S. King said the defendant was employed by a firm of motor dealers and had driven the car round from one entrance to another. He was fined 10/-, costs 10 /-- r- J Andrew Arthur Mclntyre was fined 15/-, costs 10/-, for driving a motorcar without a licence. For failing to park a motor-car on the left of the roadway Edward Thomas Gaines (West Plains) was fined 10/-, costs 12/-. For parking a motor-car in such a way as to cause an obstruction William C. Harvey was fined 10/-, costs 10/-. Gordon R. Sutherland was fined £l, costs 12/-, for speeding in Dee street, and John Peter Thomson was fined £l/10/-, costs 10/-, for speeding in Tay street. Oswald Collinson (Mr T. V. Mahoney) was convicted and ordered to pay costs 12/- for failing to dip the lights of his car. 1 G. E. Campbell was convicted and ordered to pay costs 10/- for riding an unlighted bicycle. For riding a bicycle on the footpath William Hardiman was fined 10/-, costs 10/-, Keith Raymond Sharman was convicted and ordered to pay costs 10/-, and John Young Hannay was fined 10/-, costs 10/-. Kenneth Baxter, for failing to display a white surface of 12 square inches on the rear of his bicycle, was fined 5/-, costs 10/-. John Hall was fined 15/-, costs 10/-, for failing to have a rear reflector on his bicycle. For procuring liquor while prohibited William David Burke (Mr G. C. Cruickshank), who pleaded not guilty, was convicted and discharged. Reserved decision was given in the case in which the Transport Department proceeded against John Alexander McDonald for breach of a goods service licence. The evidence was heard on September 27, Mr B. W. Hewat appearing for the defendant and Mr J. C. Edwards for the department. The defendant was convicted and fined £l/10/-, costs 15/- and witnesses’ expenses 8/-.
