VICTORY BALL AT PAPATOTARA

BASKETBALL SUCCESSES CELEBRATED

The Papatotara Basketball Club held a victory ball in the Papatotara hall on a recent evening to celebrate their winning of the B grade competition and the Young Cup. The hall was decorated with coloured streamers and tree ferns. An extra was played by Miss Young. Mr J. McLean was master of ceremonies. *

Mr McLean called upon the president of the Waiau Basketball Association, Mr J. Forde, to present the cup to the team. Mr Forde congratulated the team on winning the competition. Miss Erskine replied after which the team was accorded musical honours.

A spot waltz was won by Miss E. Erskine and Mr P. Boulter. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss L. Rogers and Mr D. Jenkins. A mystery dance was won by Miss Copland and Mr E. Bennett.
