ANNUAL MEETING OF CIVICS CIRCLE

The annual meeting of the Civics Circle was held at the Women’s Club last night, when Miss V. White, .chairman, presided. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames A. Owen-Johnston, S. J. Randle, Roy Anderson, Gillanders, and Miss Stewart.
The secretary, Miss M. Ryan, read the annual report and balance-sheet. The • election of officers resulted: Secretary, Miss Ryan (re-elected); three new members of committee, Mesdames G. C. Tapper, R. Robb and H. Parker. The election of a chairman was deferred until a later date.
A discussion took place as to whether a study circle should be formed or the lectures continued next year. The nucleus of a study circle was formed. After the meeting a big number of members was entertained with a film of New Zealand scenery shown by Mr Ivan O’Brien.
