WOMEN’S DIVISION
EDENDALE BRANCH Because of the unfavourable weather, there was only a small attendance at the monthly meeting of the Edendale branch of the Women’s Division. Mrs McKenzie presided. Mesdames F. Brown and Robertson were nominated to attend country' women’s week in Invercargill from August 7 to 11. Samples of articles made by the Invercargill disabled soldiers were displayed with a view to obtaining orders. The competition for plain toffee was won by Miss Tither. Mrs Frame was second and Mrs Anderson third. A knitted toy competition was won by Mrs Anderson. OTAPIRI BRANCH At the monthly meeting of the Otapiri branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union Mrs Wadworth presided. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Butt, Stevens and Smith. A motion of sympathy was passed with Mrs Williams. The roll call was “A Health Hint.” The competitions resulted:—Pikelets: Miss D. Hamilton 1, Mrs Wadworth 2, Mrs K. McKenzie 3, Mrs Butt 4. Best bloom: Mrs Butt 1, Mrs D. Brown 2, Miss K. Taylor 3.
